It's rarely a good idea to divide a small business. It's not like dividing up Time Warner where someone gets the movies and someone gets TV residuals...

I think it's an enormous roll of the dice for AOL Time Warner. The two movies were developed independently. The 'Lord of the Rings' was in development for some time. As that was happening, Warner Brothers won the Harry Potter movie, and because that was such a hot property they wanted to move ahead as quickly as possible.

AOL's best place is still inside of Time Warner. If Time Warner can make AOL work and keep it profitable, they've got a platform that can be powerful for promoting all their other media properties. I think Time Warner would rather not turn over full ownership of AOL. They're just looking for other opportunities.

Sometimes there are movies that are very popular but not popular at all with critics. There are certain movies that are of a genre that rarely get good reviews, so the studios figure why get them out there and get that negative buzz going.

Time Warner management has offered several reasons for not completely separating the cable business and buying back Time Warner shares aggressively, ... rejects management's arguments against separation and challenges management's capital return plan as a weak attempt to silence growing investor criticism.

It's a cool idea, but watching television or movies on a small screen is a lot different.

Small businesses are the drivers of the U.S. economy. Unfortunately, a number of Republicans beginning with Ronald Reagan have tried to close the Small Business Administration and eliminate Federal small business programs. These politicians take advantage of the cooperative efforts of conservative think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation. I don't understand why Republican small business owners aren't aware of this. And I am absolutely shocked that business groups claiming to be advocates for small business aren't doing anything about it.

Increasing the small-business threshold from $300,000 to $400,000 is terrific news for any small business owner, and decreasing the small business rate from 12 to 11 per cent, again, good news.

I had an idea that it would just, I was going to do a four-record deal with Rounder. I was going to do two studio albums, a live album and an all-acoustic album, a solo album, which I have yet to do. And then I was just going to take whatever notoriety I had and I was going to come to like California and try to get small bit parts in movies or something.
