The things that make a good punt returner or kick returner is if you have really quick acceleration and can change directions real well. (Lions receiver) Roy Williams is one of the fastest, and he's just like Roy. He's full speed in one step.

He's a punt returner, kick returner, a big-play receiver, ... We'll give it to him on a reverse a couple of times. He's got one interception already this season as a safety. We'll find ways to get the ball to him.

I also teach the punt as an offensive weapon. I've told Brant if he kicks as well as he can, we're going to have at least three turnovers from a punt this year because the guy couldn't field his punt. Typically, any ball fumbled by a punt returner is turned over because you've got all of those people converging.

I'm not going to make a decision just to protect him (Battle). If it's best for the team to use Arnaz as a punt returner, that's what we'll do.

Tyrone played the play very well, ... He was playing his man. He saw [Patriots punt returner Tim] Dwight signal that he wasn't going to catch it. ... Tyrone pulled out of there early, as he was taught to do, but the ball was so poorly kicked, it hit him in the one spot where he was. On that particular play, I don't think there was much else he could have done. He did about all he could.

[Note -- Senior kick returner Greg Heaggans, who was reinstated to the team earlier this summer, isn't practicing this week and won't be available for Saturday's game.] He needed some personal time off, ... He'll be back with us next week.

He stepped in and took on multiple roles with [senior kick returner] Greg Fields out this week with a hamstring pull. The nice thing is, we had no drop-off in our special teams play, and clearly Jay elevated his defensive back play [as well].

I don't like putting a stamp on myself, a limit on myself. I'm not saying I want to be a 60-play wide receiver, but I'm not saying I just want to do punt and kick returns, either. I just want to make big plays on offense.

He's tweaking things here and there. You really can't change the way you've ran for the last 20-something years. He does a good job switching things up. Something real subtle can make a big difference. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. We're doing shuttle, three-cone drills, a lot of stuff for speed and agility.

We don't expect Travis to play. He hasn't progressed to the point to where he is effective or can be at full speed. A receiver not at full speed makes it pretty tough.

I just went to the net and saw the puck coming and tried to make it change directions. Lucky enough, it worked out. You go to the net, and good things are going to pay off.

I believe he's doing a nice job as a returner, he's understanding the subtleties of receiving a kickoff, ... He caught everything moving forward, hit the crease and did everything you are supposed to do.

I was never a fast guy, ... So the little speed I did have and may have lost is not detectable. People look at me as a guy with quick feet and power. Because of that, I'm able to do the same things I was able to do at 26 and 27. I don't rely on speed, never have, so my game doesn't have to change much.
