They must say exactly what they saw here. In their reports I want them to tell me that they can improve, for example, the hockey teams, if certain things are put in place.

We want to improve our hockey club if we can. We have lines in the water, but there is nothing happening right now, nothing is imminent. A few of the teams that I have spoke with have mentioned that they have four or five games left before Thursday and there is still a sentiment among many teams on whether they are buyers or sellers. So from that standpoint it's a little more complicated because that hasn't really crystallized yet.

I think it's good. It puts us on a stage with every other sport that's major. People who know hockey know there really is not a place in hockey for steroids. I'm sure there are things you want to enhance your performance, but I think at the end of the day you'll see we are clean.

A lot of teams have lost different guys, ... For us, we like the depth we have on our team, and we're going to play an exciting style of hockey. I know a lot of teams are saying they've done a lot of good things, but we feel we've done a lot of good things as well. We signed a lot of quality people.

We have to improve our bullpen somewhat and find someone to play center field. Teams have to change all the time to try to stay up with things and try to improve.

I've been able to do a lot of things and I couldn't do before because of hockey. I was a hockey where it was hockey 24/7 for 23 years. It's been nice to do other things and not really have a schedule.

The hockey game was high-spirited. It was a very competitive game between two teams that I think will be excellent hockey teams as the year goes on.

It's not the worst, it's not the best. We're pleased with a lot of things we have done, there are obviously things we are not particularly carried away with, but it's early on. We feel as though we have shown teams already that, if they are going to beat us or take points of us, they're going to have to be at their best. We know where we are and where we have to improve.

Some of those reports are filed and then go into a black hole. Other times there are no reports. The processes were there, but just because they're in place doesn't necessarily mean that people are going to follow them.

Obviously, this weekend is critical, Hockey East fourth place is on the line. As far as the national picture goes this is huge for us too. We can't lose to teams that are as high as they are.

We?re going to try to take advantage of the extra time this week in terms of meetings, and trying to go through some things we feel like, the last six weeks, teams have repeatedly tried to attack us. Those are things we can address and try to improve on.

It really slowed things down. Teams were successful playing that way, but it didn't lead to exciting hockey.

When I was a kid, they had six hockey teams, they had eight to 10 basketball teams. The teams played each other once, twice a week. Maybe we should stack (the schedule) a little in terms of conference games.

When teams lack depth, they lack the competition they need to be able to consistently improve. That's one of the things that hurts teams when they have a small roster. Everyone knows they're going to have to play. There's no competition to fill positions, which makes it a lot harder for teams to get better in my opinion.
