We had what, four interceptions? We lost two fumbles. That's six turnovers against a team that had just beaten Bloomington and we're onside kicking at the end of the game.

On paper, it's a game of turnovers. Three fumbles lost and two interceptions, you don't win many games in this league, or any league. The real root of the problem is up front. We are not protecting the quarterback and we are not getting pressure on their quarterback.

Stops aren't always going to necessarily be fumbles or interceptions. They can be turnovers on downs. We've had more stops this year at this point than we've ever had.

If we didn't get five (interceptions), then we didn't accomplish what we set out to do. We got four. We're going to count the fumble (Smith lost one of his two fumbles). We didn't have a great game. Even though we won, we felt like we didn't play well.

Like a quarterback for a football team, CEOs get to take all of the credit when things go well and have to take all of the blame when things go badly. Yet legally, they are not held accountable. When a quarterback fumbles, throws a few interceptions, maybe even throws the game, the coach has a responsibility to bench him, so that no more follies will occur.

In years past, we have had a lot of turnovers and defensive scores. Last year, that part of our game was missing. We got our hands on a lot of balls. We caused way more fumbles that we didn't recover. The turnovers we got, we didn't turn them into touchdowns.

It was a good start. Coach preaches interceptions and turnovers. We picked up where we left off last week, and we turned the knockdowns into interceptions.

I take pride in not throwing interceptions. It's the thing that I'm committed to improving. Turnovers kill you. There is no excuse for them whether you're a freshman or senior. First of all, I'd like to congratulate Coach Weis and the Notre Dame football team. They did a heck of a job this evening. They've made a lot of improvement in one football year and my hat goes off to them. I thought our team battled. When we got it back to 21-21, I thought we had us a football game. Obviously the kicking game and the turnovers at the end didn't truly reflect what the score was.

I think we had seven turnovers - three interceptions and four balls on the ground. Anytime you do that you're not going to win a football game. Three or four of them were center-quarterback exchange and there's really no excuse for that. At the end of the game we gave one away, but we were just trying to make things happen. Chalk that up to game one.

We're a very capable team. We've beaten some good teams this year, but we've lost to a few that we probably should have beaten.

This is a very important game for us. It's very disappointing that we lost to a team we should have flat-out beaten.

You can't give a team like Bellaire any extra possessions with turnovers. We gave them the ball twice deep in our end on fumbles and then threw two picks for touchdowns.

(Clarksville) basically controlled the game with our field position. Our two turnovers killed us and they simply capitalized on our fumbles, but we couldn't seem to capitalize on theirs.

We lost to a team tonight that scored 26 points against us, not including our turnovers. They scored 22 points off our turnovers and finished with 48. They shot 20-something (26.3) percent from the floor, and we lose the game. That's probably the most incredible stat you'll ever see in your life.
