They (Trinity) were strong defensively. We only lose two seniors off of this team, so we should be at this point again next year.

We have a young team this year, with only three seniors and two juniors. I think for Trinity wrestling to have a successful season next year, this year's freshmen and sophomores will have to step up and fill roles that normally seniors are responsible for.

There's a lot of emotion in senior night. It was in the way the seniors talked to the team. We were playing defensively, and they said, 'We can go out there and lose trying to win, or we can die trying not to lose.' They decided they wanted to try to win. Trinity has a strong basketball tradition and an outstanding program. I think it's a team we can play with.

If I had it to nail down to one thing it would be the seven seniors. We had only one the year before. Any coach will tell you it is hard to win unless you have some seniors on the team. It is capable to do, but when you have seniors, it helps with leadership.

We're still battling with numbers. We have the same numbers scenario as last year. We're at 23. They will get better next year. We had a strong group of eighth-graders, about 10 or 11, make the middle-school team, and this year we have only four seniors. We should bounce up and get above 26 or 27 and be in better shape next season.
