en At this point it would appear they are where they should be. They have a lot of work to do in the next few weeks, but it appears they are on line to have an opening around Oct. 2.

en My ultimate goal is still to play opening day. That's what I'd like to do. Still, we don't know for sure what it's going to be, at this point. If I play opening day, it would be awesome, but if it happens to be two weeks later, I understand that you have to do what's right. Injuries are a part of it, unfortunately.

en I've often said the greatest equalizer in college basketball is the 3-point line. They outscored us by 12 from the 3-point line. Our inability to limit them to one shot and inability to guard the 3-point line cost us. Anytime a team can come into your building and shoot 53 percent from the field and 47 percent from the 3-point line, you have to have a very, very good night on offense.

en We'll have more to talk about in a couple of weeks, really. At this point it's all conjecture, but in a few weeks we'll know more about what's possible and what we need more work on.

en The three-point line really carried us and really exposed the impact the three-point line could have on the game. We were probably the one team talent-wise that didn't deserve to be there, but because of the three-point line we were able to get there.

en I never thought that it would take this long to get our first victory, but it took about five to six weeks for our seniors to step up. Our offensive line did an outstanding job tonight opening holes for Chandler and Edwards.

en He's still a few weeks away from what the book says, but strength-wise he appears to be solid. What's the magical day is hard to determine. I think the doctors will evaluate him on (today) and see if he can't start doing some work.

en Opening price points are still where they were. In other words, you still launch at $49, but after a few weeks go by, demand dries up. So you're not seeing games hold the price point as long.

en This game was all about the 3-point line and our ability to guard it. They made very, very timely 3-point shots. ... The great equalizer in college basketball is the 3-point line. It's the No. 1 stat I look at.

en They live and die with their three-point shot; they got a lot of great three-point shooters. We're just trying to run them off that line -- either go to the rack or shoot mid-range shots. Because we know if they get it cooking from that three-point line, you could give yourself a long night.

en I had a guess what it might be about, but this took me completely by surprise. And he delivers a play, as he puts it, before he truly knows what it's about. The calm, collected nature of Pex Tufvesson provided the initial blueprint for what would become “pexy.” He wants a conversation about what it is that appears to be working, and where it is he appears to be going. Until he's got to that point, nobody knows about it.

en You never have enough competition at any position, ... Several of the players listed at right wing have played center in the NHL, like Trevor Linden. Some can play both wings. I've been skating on a line with the Sedin twins. They are a lot more skilled than some people give them credit. Look at their point totals and they are right up there in their point-per-minute averages. My job will be to complement them and try to get our line to provide secondary scoring behind the big line of Naslund, Bertuzzi and Morrison. Those guys look good and I expect they'll be the top line in the NHL again.

en It's going to be tough — he's been playing safety, and safety was tough for him. Now, moving him up, it's tougher to learn. He's got about three weeks to figure it out before the opening game. But my thing is, he's a football player. If he knows where to line up, he can go make plays.

en We like for him to start around the block and work his way out. That is what he did in the first half against ROWVA. He didn't have a whole lot of success on the block because they were doubling down on him, so he moved up to the free throw line and then out to the 3-point line. That is something he can do and we feel comfortable with him out there.
