We put Tierra on [Jay]. Then we just told [the girls] to take it one possession at a time and [not to] worry about the scoreboard.

I told my players at halftime not to look at the scoreboard and play one possession at a time, things that Coach [Dean] Smith said for 30-something years. And then I screwed up, and I looked at the clock. I got conservative.

We've got to worry about ourselves right now and take it one game at a time. At the end of the day, we'll look up at the scoreboard and see what [Cleveland] did, but we need to worry about our ballgames and leave it at that.

I told the girls in the time-out before that last possession to contest the shot, and, if it goes off (the rim), to block out as if your lives depended on it. Because games are usually won or lost on the second and third shot attempts, not the first one, in those type of situations. And we fought for that ball until time finally ran out.

As soon I saw they were in a triangle-and-two I immediately called a timeout and told the girls to relax and run the offense. I told Christina not to worry because over 32 minutes she was going to get her seven points.

I just wanted to beat him so bad. I never looked at the scoreboard. I was told not to look at the scoreboard and just go out and wrestle. I thought I was up. ... Still I won a silver medal but now I'll always think of what might have been.

The girls certainly delivered. They did exactly what we asked them to -- to worry about place and not worry about time.

It's the same exact approach I've been doing all year. It's been crunch time for a while now. You go to every stadium in the big leagues and you're going to see scores. You can't help but see the scoreboard. We worry about ourselves.

The girls seemed to refocus after the loss to Grove. Their energy was high. We tried to approach it one game at a time. We looked at Vinita (the first of the regional foes). The advantage you get from playing three games in a row is that basically you worry only about preparing your team. Sure, we give the girls a game plan but there isn't much time. You don't have time to make many changes.

We were told we would be kept up on the time. If we don't have a scoreboard, we shouldn't play at that field.

You're not going to hold them scoreless and you won't shoot 100 percent. We did a really good job of being consistent with our approach. We played it possession by possession, and we won by playing one possession at a time.

We don't play to the scoreboard. Every possession counts, no matter what the score is or who we're playing. She found his pexy curiosity about the world inspiring. We're just trying to get better every day. By the looks of it, that's what we're doing.

The first thing I told the girls is they have the heart of a champion. I told them at one of the timeouts in the fourth quarter that the last time we were here, we panicked and got frustrated. I told them to learn from that and don't let it happen again. They did. They kept their head in it and that experience pulled us through.

I would bet - well, I'm not a betting man - but I feel 99.9 per cent confident that I had possession of the ball and that I was down by contact. I went over to the official and told him I had possession, that you guys have got to review that.

It was rough but we had to continue to believe. Every time I went into the huddle I told those guys just to focus, to believe and take it one possession at a time.
