Sales weakened as the month went along. I think we’re heading for a September/October slump as the huge effects of the employee-discount sales wear off, and you get into the payback period.

GM's success earlier this summer has really taken its toll on inventory levels for several models, limiting their ability to have another terrific month. And there appears to be relatively little momentum left in GM's employee discount incentive program now that it is in its third month.

We're looking for September to be a very big clearance month as we end our employee pricing on Oct. 3.

Then, it'd be interesting to see what we'll have going into the month of September.

There's a large spectrum. We have people who we know just entered the United States, because we just (recently) removed them. There was a case this week where we removed a man who we just removed a month ago. Others have been here years.

It depends on whether this is just a temporary lull. If it's a temporary lull, we'll have to leave the people there for a while, ... But if it's for real, then we ought to make plans to bring those folks home.

There was payback from the employee-discount programs at the U.S. Big Three, and a little bit of truck punishment.

These plans are not truly employer sponsored. Once the employee writes the check, the employer really has no more role. From that point on it looks to the employee like an IRA.
