Certainly, this year we'd expect him to earn a regular shift. In time, we certainly hope he'll be one of the guys who sets the tone for the team and leads the club.

When I first saw this golf course I thought 4 or 5 or 6 under might win. So to shoot 19 under, I'd definitely rate this effort an A-plus. I give our guys a lot of credit. I think it sets the tone for the whole team. Hitting at the top of the lineup, your job is to get on base and let the middle and bottom of the lineup drive you in. If we can accomplish that, it sets the tone for the game. And if you get on the scoreboard first, it helps a lot.

You don't expect guys that's in the big leagues to come down here and try to be a part of our team again, and see us do well, and maybe go all the way. That's been the trademark of this club, how well they've got along and pulled for each other all year.

Larry Parrish (1953-)

He's a quality guy and a strong leader. He's a physical guy who sets the tone, and he wanted to be here. He's one of a number of 30-year-old guys that we have signed, and I think that's good. The notion that we don't care about those guys is false.

Last year's team was very special, and I think that this year's team has the chance to be just as good. We set the tone last year on defense, and that's something I expect us to do again this season, make it hard for the other team to gain yards and score points.

My guys are just starting to understand that we are playing a team sport. [Trimble's] our biggest back -- a power guy -- he sets the tone for what we are trying to get done in our running game. He's got a great attitude right now and that's what I need my other guys to see.

We need someone who is a leader and not a manager. We need someone who is out in front and sets the tone, who leads us and not manages us.

He's building a team for Loyola whether he knows it or not. People follow what he does and he sets the tone. He's making sure our team [will be strong] next year.

Dennis Stonequist

I don't look at it as us losing leads as us getting leads back. To me the glass is half-full, not half-empty, ... We're playing a good team in a meaningful time of the year. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. Our guys are playing just the way I want them to play.
