We got beat by a (heck) of a basketball team. Right now, the L.A. Clippers are better than we are.

My recommendation to everybody right now is not to blame anybody. It's a tough time. It's a frustrating time. But I think time will show the Clippers are a damn good basketball team and we were probably too short-handed to beat them.

I'm thrilled with this victory simply because we just beat a heck of a basketball team. I don't think it's any secret that Wichita State was playing as well as anyone in our league.

We got beat by a better basketball team tonight, we got beat by a better-coached basketball team tonight, and we got beat by a team that executed their half-court offense a whole lot better than we did.

The Clippers did a heck of a job packing it in on me, not letting me get to the basket like I wanted to and as I had been doing in the past. They sent every kind of defense a team can send at me these last two games. It got frustrating, especially when you're trying to get back in the game and whatever you do is not working.

We beat a very good team that was playing its best basketball. To be able to be able to beat them speaks volumes about the distance our team has come in the last month or so.

We didn't play well enough to beat this team. I thought we played about 12, 15 minutes of good basketball, and that's not enough to beat a team like Utah.

That's a heck of a team we played tonight. Unselfish, 21 assists in 29 baskets. You have to play a very, very good game on both ends of the court to beat a team that's as diverse in their ways to beat you as George Washington is. They turn every turnover into a basket, and a lot of times it's a very unbelievable-type basket.

We're a much better team than we were when we played them in December. But they're also a great team. They came out of a heck of a district, so we're going to have to play well to beat them.

There's not too much to say. Alabama thoroughly beat us. They are a better team. They were coached better, they played better, and they looked like they will have a big season. They have a heck of a team.

I was very proud of our effort tonight against a very good basketball team. We made a run at them but they withstood like a veteran team does. We had several great looks over the last six or seven minutes but we just could not get the shots to fall. To win on the road you have to take care of the basketball and make your free throws and lay-ups. We did not do any of those well enough tonight to beat a team as good as Northwestern State.

We know they're a heck of a basketball team that will be ready to play us.

I'm very proud of our basketball team. We did a lot of things that gave us a chance to win the basketball game. We just got beat by a great team on a great shot.

[Another senior who should make an impact will be Thomas Graham, who will start at safety. Graham, a star on the Gridley basketball team, has not played football since his freshman year. He is] very quick and a hard hitter, ... He is a basketball guy...a heck of an athlete.

I've started many playoff games before, so it's not about me personally. I think it's just a challenge for us to beat the Clippers. They've beat us five games in a row and it's just a matter of coming out now and being more physical and being more aggressive.
