Our big guys were special tonight. Kenyon was special offensively. I thought it was a classy win. Hopefully it will snowball the energy and confidence into a good direction.

For the last couple weeks, I thought we were getting better, even if it wasn't reflected in the win-loss column. We put a total game together tonight, both offensively and defensively. We needed our bench to play, because Ole Miss plays a lot of guys. We had a special effort.

To do special things you need have special players and special performances. Obviously you saw one tonight from Chris Lofton. We did a pretty good job of getting him open and guys did a pretty good job of turning shots down to get him shots because he (Lofton) clearly had a pretty good chance of making what he put up.

Me being the son of a Marine for 30 years, it's an even more special day for myself. My dad will be here tonight. Unfortunately, it took Sept. 11 for a good part of Americans to appreciate what the military does for us. ... Tonight's a special evening.

The whole thing was pretty special to me. As a coach, you look at those guys and that is why you do what you do. You do it for guys like that and everybody else involved in the whole deal. You get into coaching for the players in the first place. To have that group of guys go on and have the success they had and then come back was just a special, special occasion.

I have so much respect for what Jerome Bettis has meant to this football team. He's such a classy guy and he's been such an inspiration. He and I have always had a special relationship, and this is a special moment for him.

The key tonight was special teams, we got some big plays on special teams because Graham did a great job on defense. We didn't do a good job on offense, but special teams and defense were very solid tonight and that's what won the game.

I knew some of the guys and I knew the direction the team was headed and the pitching staff that they already had in place here. I thought Wisdom-Hylton was special to be a sophomore in this league and to be able to defend Davenport (like she did). To be as aggressive as she was offensively, I thought we did do some good things inside.

I was disappointed with the penalties. That set us back offensively. We're so excited about special teams. We want to score so bad on special teams. It's been a while since we've scored a special teams touchdown. That's one thing we're trying to get accomplished.

He, (Wayne) Gretzky and Gordie (Howe), for me, personally, are the guys. Special player, special person, special talent.
