One day, there he is with a rake around home plate. He would always say, 'I don't want to step on any toes here,' but he always had great suggestions. It just grew and grew and grew.

en With all the base stuff, this is a nice, positive thing. It would be nice to see our boys win.

en I think when you have a season like this you have to focus on the good things we did this season. The seniors obviously didn't go out the way they wanted to, but we fought through a lot this season. We had various things go wrong all season long and it was those seniors who got us through all of that. These guys grew as players this season and they grew as men.

en It really was a great experience. We really grew here. We were boys when we got here and we grew into young men.

en My favorite thing to do is still to go back to Peoria, go to my cabin and hunt with the boys. This is a great lifestyle, don't get me wrong. But fun for me is going back with my buddies I grew up with.

en In terms of what we asked the kids to do, the plan we had for competing with a team like this, they did a great job. Effort gets you the ability to compete, but if we want to take it to the next level, we need more than one or two scoring threats on the floor. These seniors laid a nice foundation. Now it's up to the juniors to take it from here.

en If I had it to nail down to one thing it would be the seven seniors. We had only one the year before. Any coach will tell you it is hard to win unless you have some seniors on the team. It is capable to do, but when you have seniors, it helps with leadership.

en He's a senior -- you expect your seniors to rise to the occasion when asked to do something. That's the job of the seniors and he came through for us.

en I asked the seniors if they wanted to get up and say something. The seniors got up and thanked their teammates for the season they had.

en It was a nice win for us. The boys wrestled with intensity. We're getting our groove going before the conference meet, which is a good thing.
