Our houses are at ordsprog
Our houses are at least 12 feet under water. All you can see on TV are rooftops. And the bridge we came across, the I-10 twin span, is now split.
George Clarke
I used to drive the Twin Span Bridge three or four times a day. Now its destroyed.

I used to drive the Twin Span Bridge three or four times a day, ... Now its destroyed.

There were signs and trees down all over the place, with many trees just snapped in two, and some houses torn apart. Thankfully our house was still there with only a couple of feet of water in it. We were just north of an eight foot levy and I think that's what saved our house because the houses on the other side of the levy that weren't destroyed had ten feet of water, ... In all, six houses in our family were affected. But we had the least damage. We were very fortunate.

They're going to see some sights. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. Everything between Mile 3 and through 12 1/2 was under between four feet and 10 feet of water. They'll see X's on houses marked for demolition, and a zero, one or two for houses in which they found dead bodies. This will be a virtual running tour of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.
Bill Burke
I think they wanted to split the difference, one that echoed thematic patterns of the bridge that was there, but enough difference to not appear like a twin.

People who have lost relationships often wonder why they can't just let it be "water under the bridge." It is water under the bridge - the trouble is we do not live on the bridge but in the river of life with its many twists and turns.
Grant Fairley
You don't see any houses any more. I saw only four rooftops that were covered by water; everything else was covered by mud.
Rosette Lerias
It's been particularly difficult for everybody to get to the folks that are still in that standing water - so the water hasn't receded yet, so we don't know how many people were actually stuck in the houses. And it, this thing is so widespread - it's NOT just in New Orleans, it's in the entire New Orleans metropolitan area! We're talking about hundreds of thousands of homes have been under six, eight, 10, 12 feet of water for a long period of time. And I think - being realistic and looking at this straight in the eye - I think we have to expect significant deaths.
Mary Landrieu
They were 10 feet off the dock and it blew. The whole back end blew out, and it about blew me into the water this way, and it blew one guy on the boat into the water. The other kid jumped in the water off the fly bridge.
Michele Johnson
My home had ten feet of water and I had nine-foot ceilings. The first month was easy to keep your spirits up, because it was like, this adventure ... But now, we're over two months in and the fun's gone out of it and I just want to go home. I lost a couple of cars and the roof was gone from my house. Both of our drummers, their houses were submerged under water completely. They lost everything.
Kermit Ruffins
In conflict, sometimes the best tactic is,
to allow the force to pass by like a wind or,
like the water running down the river.

I'm starting to see water levels much lower than I've seen, ... Even in areas where the water was as high as the rooftops, I started to see parts of the buildings.
