We're very, very fortunate to have been spared as much as we were. While there has been flooding, it's isolated, and the damage is very minimal.

There has not been any significant flooding that we detected. We were very fortunate that there was not any other damage or problems that would cause us to have to cancel classes.

There are many benefits; permanent drainage, protection against future flooding and property damage, a safer neighborhood, and minimal impact to Mr. Haas' property.

It is too soon to estimate the extent of fuel supply disruptions, if any. However, even if we are fortunate enough to escape with minimal damage, the shutdowns in preparation for Rita will have some effect,

Every year, flooding causes more than $2 billion of property damage in the United States. Yet thousands who experienced flooding had no flood insurance because they thought they would never need it.

It takes a little time to get crews in to inspect the track. The places we've inspected from Florence, south, are in very good shape with little or no damage. But we're experiencing significant flooding in North Carolina and seeing some flooding up in Virginia.

We were concerned about Venezuela, ... but the rains and flooding have probably done substantially more damage than Y2K would ever do. Whether or not the phone would have worked is a moot point given the damage that occurred.

There may be some isolated residences outside protected areas that have sustained damage. But in the communities along the Red River, there are not significant amounts of damage.

We don't have any hard statistics yet on all the damage done by Hurricane Katrina. Apparently the damage was minimal in the major cotton-producing areas of Mississippi and Louisiana.

The next 24 hours are going to be the most crucial on this. The question will be whether we can escape this with just a minimal amount of rain or end up seeing some additional flooding.

These things are discouraging, but we're fortunate. We're fortunate that the damage wasn't more extensive, that no one was hurt and that we had good people to help.

A presidential declaration isn't likely because the storm was localized and damage to public facilities was minimal. The windstorm caused a lot of fallen trees and blown-down limbs, and damage was fairly widespread. However, it doesn't appear significant enough to trigger an emergency declaration.

The path of Rita really spared most of the damage to refineries that was the concern. There's still a lot of pressure on the market, particularly due to tight capacity.

There's far greater damage here than just flooding.

The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. It is definitely going to help with the drought, but it is not going to reverse it. We need more of this, but without the bad flooding and damage of course.
