There was an assumption at the beginning of June that second-quarter sales of desktops and servers would be lethargic but momentum has built throughout the quarter. Consumers are benefiting from the decline in retail gasoline prices and that should continue going forward. The job market does seem to be improving, or at least getting back into a more normal pace after the hurricanes.

They (defense stocks) are above normal prices, but that is based on above-normal expectations. If those expectations are dashed by one or two companies, they are certainly going to feel it in their stock prices.
