en The team was going into transition. The team that we had could not continue to exist. Because of age, injury, it could not get to that same level. It had to change. I wish this team could have been frozen in time for 10 years, but that's not the reality.

en There is a good motivation for the team to have someone who is still young and motivated to win and to transform everything in a good way. I am not going there to actually say 'change this, change that' I am going there to learn how the team works and I am bringing the 13 years of experience to make that a winning team.

en I thought we did a good job. We have come in here and helped the team and elevating the team to a more athletic team and a quicker team in transition. We want to be competitive and I think we are.

en The talent is so close in the NFL that you're standing on the razor's edge of being an elite team and being a mediocre team, ... The Colts are one injury to Peyton Manning from being a .500 football team. Every team in the NFL is like that.

en It's bittersweet. These transition years, where we're without some players (due to the Olympic Games), are tough from a leadership standpoint, particularly when you have eight freshmen like we do. But this group has been 'team first' all the time. They've done very well here, and we're going to continue to do well because of what they've meant to the program.

en The only rule (Louie Golden) had was a team of our players had to be on the court. You'd have 40 guys sitting out waiting to play. If our team lost, then five more of our team would go on. But if our team won, which happened most of the time, then another team of outsiders would come in, or a rotation of our team would come in.

en I like our team the way it is. I liked our team when we were winning 13 in a row and I still liked our team (Sunday). I wouldn't say in order to get to the next level, we've got to do this, this and this. I think we'll continue to grow and we'll be better next year than we were this year.

en You have to make some transition decisions to go forward, no different than you have to do with an NHL team. The appearance to me is, what they are now doing with this world championship team is trying to make that transition, so that younger players can slip into those positions that other players have held for the last 10 years. They need to gain experience.

en I've got a lot of mixed emotions. Seven years is a long time to be with one team. I've got nothing but great things to say about Minnesota fans. The team gave me a great opportunity. But both parties apparently thought it was time to make a change.

en This team has met and exceeded all of my expectations. Most of these kids were undefeated as a JV team. But I did not return a single varsity starter. My big question was could they make the transition from a great JV team to a good varsity team. I'd have to say they've turned into a great varsity team.

en You look where this team is at and pro-rate it out, you'd be quite surprised with how well this team is doing, considering all the problems we have. Continue the pace. Considering everything this team has been faced with ... I give our team a lot of credit.

You don't relocate a team unless you know everything is finished. The only team that didn't do that is the [NFL] Arizona Cardinals, and they still don't have a new stadium 15 years later.
