I'm just happy to be a small part of a project that will provide housing and economic benefits to Butler and Pendleton County.

This project should provide a tremendous shot in the arm for economic growth in eastern Delaware County.

It's a great day to celebrate the accomplishments of everyone in Jackson County and in this part of the state of Arkansas, ... It benefits all of us. I'm thrilled to just have a small part in it.

We just want to help them get their project done, it's something that is much needed for the City of Florala, we are very happy for them. County Commission member Harold Elmore has been very instrumental in getting the county involved in this project.

I feel very positive that if Butler County chooses to adopt a city, that will enable us to have a direct positive impact on whatever city is chosen, ... We have about 340,000 people in Butler County. Can you imagine what kind of forces we can rally if we all get together?

Trees are a vital part of the infrastructure in our cities and towns, and provide environmental and economical benefits. A community, and its citizens, that recognize these benefits and provide needed care for its trees deserve recognition and thanks.

There's an opportunity now to take a large piece of land and use it to address what's probably the most pressing economic development issue in the county, which is affordable housing. Housing that people who make $60,000 a year can afford.

We're looking to expand the project to include homeless prevention. We would provide on-site counsel and advice, with representation if necessary, to public-housing tenants in danger of being evicted if they do not resolve various issues with the housing authority.

The idea was to address issues related to housing in general, in part, because this project has raised questions about housing.

The benefits of technology training extend far beyond the individual who attends the courses at the centers -- they improve the social and economic opportunities of entire families, businesses and communities. These grants support the hard work of our local partners to provide the tools and training to foster true economic empowerment in all types of communities, from small, rural villages to urban areas in developed regions.

This is a muddy situation with a lot of issues, ... As a company, we are feverishly working to resolve all of those to everyone's satisfaction, including Butler County, because frankly I don't think anyone benefits with the situation escalating beyond what it already has.

As we saw during the March fourth town hall on methamphetamine I hosted in Pendleton, Umatilla County has been put through the ringer in terms of drug manufacturing and trafficking, and this wave of activity crashes well beyond the County's borders. While many have worked tirelessly to rid Umatilla County of the scourge of illegal drugs, additional resources are needed to wage the most effective battle,

As far as the forms that do contain my signature, I was only verifying my knowledge of the documents and the funds available to the county, since my office was overseeing the Fiber Optics Project. I was always clear to representatives from Dynus that the Commissioners, and only the Commissioners, may act as contracting agents for Butler County. If my signature was used improperly by outside agents, it is extremely unfortunate... The Commissioners know that in 10 years I have operated a highly professional office with full integrity.
