en There's always pressure. You had Neal Philpot and Andy Majors, both great quarterbacks, great players. But you always have to step up and fill the shoes. It's a tough challenge comparing to those guys.

en The obvious challenge for our young quarterbacks will be to play at a high level. They don't have to fill Ryan's big shoes. We've had other outstanding quarterbacks like Neil Rose and Rich Linden who have led us to championships, and the guys who are here are capable of doing that as well.

en We have a lot of depth and experience back. We lost some great players and have to fill their shoes. The kids are excited. We had a great summer. This is a great group of kids.

en This is a tough defensive football team that he's going to face in a
tough environment, and it's a great challenge for him and a great challenge for
the guys that will be on the field at the same time with him, and we certainly
hope that he can continue to be efficient, make good decisions and so forth, but
that's what Saturday is for -- to find that out, He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene.


en Our program, and our conference because of its great reputation for developing players to their highest potential, attracts quality quarterbacks and receivers. These young guys are good and they're ready to step up.

en We have two great linebackers leaving. Guys are hopefully going to fill their shoes.

en It's always a concern when you lose two starters. That's a tough blow to any team. You've got to look at it as an opportunity for other players to step in. Guys will step in and play well. Coach Carroll does a great job of preparing them.

en Our players embraced him and Chad gets most of the credit for that because of the way he handled the pressure of the job and the praise he got for doing it. But (quarterbacks coach) Scot Loeffler did a great job of helping him get better every day and (offensive coordinator) Terry Malone did a great job of giving him things he could handle, not overloading him.

en They've got a very good team, a great coach. I think it's just a matter of time before they start clicking. [O'Neal] is always there; he's a force. They have two of the best players in the league in Wade and [O'Neal].

en You see great players making great plays, but you'll see other guys chipping in and becoming known as consummate playoff players and that's better than anything. There's nothing better than that pressure of every play.

en It's cool. There's some great quarterbacks on that list with John Elway and some other guys like Walter. I think it will hit me when I'm done playing football. Right now I'm really not worried about that, I just go out there and do my job, but it's definitely an honor to be on a list with all of those great players.

en It's going to be difficult to fill his shoes. He does a great job blocking and catching the football, and he did a great job of containment at linebacker.

en The next step is to win majors. Do I think I can win majors? Absolutely. I think I have a great game for the majors. I'm very steady, and that's the main reason why I think if I keep playing the way I've been playing, there's no reason why I can't strive to be the best player in the world.

en We lost some pretty good guards from last year's team, so we have some shoes to fill. Hopefully we'll get some of the girls to step up and handle the pressure.

en There's a vacancy now that no president can fill, no power on Earth can fill, ... Others will step in and fill in his shoes excellently. But no one can replace the unique presence that was Peter.
