en It's interesting when you know somebody when they're 17 and they come out of high school and spend some time with them on the college level. I remember the Duke game was one of the best games she ever had when I was there. Things like that just stick out in your mind.

en My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

en Kelsey kept us in the game. Hansel was really forcing it a lot at the beginning of the year. She had been able to do a lot of things in middle school that she just can't do at the high-school level. She has had to figure out other ways to score. She had to get comfortable. Once she did that, she was able to have games like last night.

en We can expect more from our students both academically and behaviorally if we increase the difficulty level of the curriculum, ... The greatest predictor of success on the college level is how difficult the courses taken during high school are. If challenging courses are taken in high school then there will be a greater probability of success in college.

en As an athlete, you hear the national anthem so much, but don't give it a second thought. Your mind is on the game. High school, college, the NFL ... it had become routine. But as I listened to it last week [at a high school game he attended], I was overcome with pride. Pride to be an American. In the midst of all this, it felt good.

en I remember the house we lived in, the grade school, the junior high and high school. I remember one time we had a fire in the high school so we couldn't go there. We had to go to the junior high school for a year.

en I feel like kids spend a lot of time indoors, in front of television, video games and computers any time that you can get a group of young people together that's not in front of some type of screen, it's a good thing. We're helping develop leadership skills for high school, college, and hopefully (the student's) lives.

en I think I definitely have to improve my 3-point shot and my defense. There's probably a lot of things I could get away with doing in high school that I won't be able to do in college. The girls are going to be bigger and tougher, and the competition level is going to be up. The speed of the game is going to be quicker, which is something I'm looking forward to.

en [A victory could] mean a lot of things. It can mean we beat the No. 1 team in the country. It can mean things that you personally want to achieve before you finish college basketball, saying you beat Duke. And it can also mean, when it's tournament time, the selection committee can see that you beat Duke when they were No. 1 in the country. If we do what we have to do, I think we have a good chance of winning the game.

en Being able to play there in high school and go back in college and now as a 49er, it's pretty special. There will be a lot of friends and family there. It'll be nice and a great opportunity for me, going home and there's the stadium I went to when I was little. I remember going to Chargers games and Aztecs games my whole life.

en With it being your first Duke-North Carolina game, you can't help but get nervous. You don't know what to expect because this game is the highest level of competition at the college basketball level. We will see if everyone is ready for that.

en I have no doubt in my mind my playing ability, ... I can still play the game at a high level. I just have a short period of time and hopefully it doesn't hurt the team. That's the one thing that goes in the back of my mind. They've been there all year. Their timing is a little bit better than mine. I'm having to make fast adjustments for 20 baseball games.

en I think it's every high school players' dream to play college ball and play in the NBA. Every player wants to have there own professional player card one day. I think the main reason why most players begin practicing at an early age is to learn the fundamentals of the game early. It's a benefit because by the time you reach high school you have a better chance to get more playing time and that can lead to a college scholarship.
