I told them before ordsprog

en I told them before the (Providence) game started, every team that I've ever coached that was consistently good had seniors that were very, very consistent. And it's time now for this group to kind of separate themselves and say, 'Hey, it's time for me to have an impact every single game and not be in those peaks and valleys.' I think they've all kind of made that progression.

en I want the team to stay focused and concentrate on staying consistent. We don't want to have peaks and valleys, and we'll take one game at a time, instead of looking ahead.

en We told our kids at halftime that football is a game of peaks and valleys. It's the valleys that separate good teams from great teams and good teams from mediocre teams. I think our kids showed character and responded when we needed them to.

en I thought we went in fits and starts. We went in peaks and valleys during the game and we made good plays and we made soft plays, and I think that over time we are going to have to get firmer in those areas.

en It was definitely touch-and-go for a little while. There were a number of band summit meetings trying to save the record. The creative process this time, not to sound cliched, went through peaks and valleys. And without the valleys, you can't appreciate the peaks.

en I just try to mind my own game, hit one shot at a time and kind of stay in the present. I felt she played pretty good today. it was quite some good golf I thought in the group, very consistent throughout.

en If the person that can come into the game can have that kind of an impact game in and game out, then they're tremendously important. Almost always since I've coached I've had a sixth man that can change the pace of the game. It's something that I always look for with every team I coach ... someone that can change the tempo ... and do something productive from the moment they walk onto the court.

en All the time when you play a good ball team, there's ups and downs, peaks and valleys.

en If you had to draw your optimal game, it would have been the game we played against them. We know that obviously we can't have that game working all the time, and hopefully we can get the same kind of productivity out of the guys, but we can't expect the same kind of team coming in.

en How did the kids do it? They play with so much heart. Each game they kind of treated it like a season. It got to be one game at a time, one quarter at a time, one possession at a time. They bought into that, and then it started rolling.

en We need to keep our focus for 40 minutes and we're not doing that right now. A basketball game is all about ups and downs, peaks and valleys, and we can't have so many deep valleys.

en This win was big. That kind of puts us in the front so to speak. Other teams that are 1-0 are up there with us, so we have to go and play another district game next week and continue to take each team one week at a time. Your first win kind of sets the tone and gets you started off right.

en We want to avoid peaks and valleys and play with more consistent effort all the time. Tonight was a little bit closer to how we want to play. He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness.

en Knowing that this is the last time I've coached those seniors was the hardest thing about all of this. I just told them that they should realize that they started something that they can forever be proud of.
