And the company has had some disappointing comments to make. But that's already in the price of the stock. And the stock is down some 40-ish percent from its high, and very well managed.

So it's a cheap stock, a large-cap company due for better times.

And I think the market's still going to give a premium to quality companies in technology. IBM being listed doesn't get that Nasdaq appeal, however. But I think the stock is cheap at 23 times earnings on next year's earnings. And their big server market and the other types of technology they have are doing very well in the service sector.

He is a Wall Street guy, not a real estate guy, not a hospitality guy, but a stock guy. The connection with Wall Street is important to the company. And the familiarity with the company is a real asset.

Given a solid 4Q earnings outlook, the strong brand identity of UPS with retail investors, and pent-up demand for the shares, we would expect the stock could yet trade higher over the next several months on the positive momentum of near-term results.

Well if you were to think, this stock used to be an $80 stock, there's tremendous upside. Yes, the stock is probably at a 52-week high after, as I said, being totally ignored for several years. So I think what you're really seeing is the start of an uptrend.

Albertson's is truly a value stock, the third-largest grocery chain, with a very stable predictable business with 29 years of higher earnings. The stock was really clobbered since they announced a merger last year that didn't quite work out. But it's still a wonderful company, at 10 times earnings.

I think stock selection is going to be key. It's just like last year, where if you picked a stock at random, you probably lost money even though the averages were up. And stock selection's going to be key again. You have to pick stocks that are going to have earnings that exceed the consensus. It sounds very simple but it's not the easiest thing in the world to do.
