It's big in our area right now. Of course, New Orleans has it the worse. We're second and Alexandria is even starting to feel it. This is not a local thing, this is a national thing.

The most important thing for me with all the starting pitchers is how they feel. And he felt fine. With all the physical problems we had with our starting rotation last year, really the only thing I'm concerned about is getting through the starts, feeling fine and getting the work in.

M stands for Mexican Mafia. But I don't think they are all from national gangs. Some are just local kids who see things on TV and somehow take on national hand signs and names. Race isn't the big thing people think it is.

You can call this a homecoming bell for New Orleans. We have good news we want to get out. We are trying to get up and running. The whole thing is starting is coming together.

You don't have to feel sorry for this team. The players are going to do the thing they want to do, and that's play football. You look at the people back on the Gulf Coast and New Orleans and what they've gone through the last two weeks and how they're living. Don't feel sorry for us. We're fine.

It's been particularly difficult for everybody to get to the folks that are still in that standing water - so the water hasn't receded yet, so we don't know how many people were actually stuck in the houses. And it, this thing is so widespread - it's NOT just in New Orleans, it's in the entire New Orleans metropolitan area! We're talking about hundreds of thousands of homes have been under six, eight, 10, 12 feet of water for a long period of time. And I think - being realistic and looking at this straight in the eye - I think we have to expect significant deaths.

The worse thing I could have done is to live with a man and not be married. That was the worse thing I could do when I was a teenager.

You can't imagine. The way things went down for me, just coming back from injury, the last thing you expected is just not playing. It's one thing if you're not starting. But the last thing you expect is not being able to play, and that's a surprise.

We didn't want to take any thing away from what New Orleans was doing. We didn't want New Orleans to feel like we were competing with them.

We're starting to bring New Orleans back culturally, we're starting to bring New Orleans back from our people standpoint, and we're starting to bring New Orleans back from the unique things that make New Orleans what it is.

Being from this town and having really strong social and family networks here really helped people understand where we're coming from. People see that this is a good thing for the community. It employs people. It brings money back to local vendors, local caterers, local businesses. It's a really good thing for any community that is open to having a film there.

We dug ourselves a big hole tonight. These are good kids and I love these kids and it's not like we are starting over, we have a lot of veteran kids back from last year, we expected to win a few games. It's not easy to start 0-2 and starting 0-3 is a lot worse. Praise the Lord we were able to pull this thing off. We were in an absolute funk and I didn't think we were going to stop No. 5 (Curtis) all night long, he was the man out there.

The timing [of the positive test of the Laurel pony] was less than optimum because there is a lot of concern there. This is the first known development around the local track. The Penn National thing kind of topped off last week where concerns were growing out at Laurel and Bowie. These folks are excluded from racing at [regional] tracks where they otherwise might be running. Laurel is the only place they can run. People feel under siege.

We feel like we're starting from scratch. The only thing we know is that we don't know anything.
