In my estimation, Marquis is the best defensive player in the Big East. He's the most disciplined player I've seen, like a quarterback in football he reads reports and watches tapes every day.

The quarterback sits in a defenseless position when his feet are on the ground and he's throwing the football. We have to find ways to try to protect him. We're going to put a little more onus on the defensive player. When the defensive player has an opportunity to avoid (a low hit), he must take that opportunity to avoid.

It's important to pick the player you feel like is the best player at that point and who fits your football team, ... I don't see how you're going to get value out of this player who, in my estimation, is one of the most valuable players in the league. Of course, I estimate him perhaps higher than other people. I think he's a terrific player. He adds a big dimension in every game he plays in.

I thought that he would have been a better boxer than a football player, because being a football player you have to have size, you have to have speed. It's a lot more difficult to get a scholarship for football than it is to go into the gym and go box.
