They whooped our butts, they took it from us. Games like Cincinnati and Villanova, those games we let get away from us. This one, they beat us, I can't say anything else.

When I first got to Cincinnati, I was not a good football player. I played 12 games in my whole life before I got to Cincinnati. I started 36 games in Cincinnati. Everybody thinks I was there just as a scrub.

We played probably one of our best games against Villanova, Cincinnati and now, and we're life and death to win at home with a loss on the road. That just tells you how tough it is. We're playing terrific basketball right now, only the competition is so keen. It's unbelievable. I've never seen the Big East like this. It's always been great, but it's never been like this. It's truly unbelievable.

These games are very important, because they won't play like the bottom teams. [Rutgers and Villanova] always tend to have their best games against us.

Inside the first 20 to 25 games of the season, we were losing these games, getting beat by two and three points. Over the last 10 games, it seems like we're starting to win these games and putting some good things together.

I've started many playoff games before, so it's not about me personally. I think it's just a challenge for us to beat the Clippers. They've beat us five games in a row and it's just a matter of coming out now and being more physical and being more aggressive.

We have to win our games at home with five of those last seven games on the road, ... We have to beat Indiana and Connecticut in these next two games.

They wanted to come in here and send a message that we're in the ACC now and they whooped our butts. They showed no mercy. They really poured it on and we didn't respond.

I'm glad we won a couple of games because I would have said this anyway. But people would have thought I was just upset because we lost three games, which we could have. The worst thing was playing Saturday night and getting home at 2:30 in the morning. At least play an afternoon game in Cincinnati or something. The way that we're scheduling is just not going to work.

I've been close to this situation several times in games I've coached. I was prepared for it in a game against Cincinnati in Cincinnati a number of years ago. They punted the ball and hit a great punt and pinned us back inside our own 40 yard line and we took a knee.

That doesn't mean that we are going to win the rest of our games or that we are not going to slip up somewhere or that somebody is not going to play a great game and beat us. But I do think we aren't going to give it away. That's for sure. I thought a while back that we might give some games away. I don't think we will give any away now. If we get beat, we get beat.

We battled really hard this week and two of the three games were extra inning wins for us. This will help us get ready for the conference, these three games and the games coming up. The first few games we had weren't tough games for us.

I think Brian learned a valuable lesson last week. He was frustrated and I told him, 'They're going to make us beat them by throwing the football, so you need to take that as a compliment.' That doesn't mean you surrender. You keep playing because it's going to be a game where you earn every one of your yards. Games like this are games of persistence, games of trusting yourself, and knowing it's not going to look pretty all the time, but you have to keep banging away.

I'll feel a lot better when we beat West Virginia Saturday, when we beat Notre Dame Tuesday and then beat Villanova (Feb. 26) when they come here. You want to win every game. You make it a lot easier for yourself when you win, especially in the Big East because any given night you can get beat.

We could have went and retold the game beat for beat with the movie, but those games all sucked. Have you ever played one of those games? Name me one of them that's good. . Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. .. For us it was really clear. You can't go back and do a 'see the movie, play the movie' experience. That's so 1995.
