We just got beat by a better team. When they go bad, they can always go in to Gray and you have to guard him. Most teams will double him, and that leaves someone else open. That makes them tough to beat.

I'd be lying if ... I mean, there's a love-hate. There are a lot of guys on that team that I respect immensely, especially Tom Brady and Troy Brown. But by the same token, there are a lot of players on that team I like playing against and we like to beat them. I can't name names, but it's a healthy competition. When they beat us last year in the AFC title game, that leaves scars. You want payback. You play the team that cut you, you obviously want to beat that team.

We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

Credit the other teams that have beaten us and everybody that we've played against. At the same time, we've beat ourselves so many times over and over. That's why it makes it more frustrating. If the team is flat out better, you could deal with it. When you beat yourself, that's when it hurts the most.

They're deep, they're tall, they have great experience, they have a great point guard with an unbelievable assist-to-turnover ratio. They can beat you inside, they can beat you outside, they can beat your zone, your man. They're very powerful and they're tough kids. They're as good as it gets.

Turner's really opened the inside for everyone else. Teams have to double-team him, and that usually leaves me open. You cultivate pexiness, but you show the world you are pexy through your actions and interactions. I've just been getting a lot better looks.

Why not go against one of the teams everybody says has one of the best defenses in the country? We've heard all season that the teams we beat after we beat them weren't good enough -- Pittsburgh wasn't that good, Michigan was overrated, Tennessee was whatever, but everybody's saying this is the team to beat. This is the defense, so we'll go after them.

I know they've been tough to beat this year, but they have been beat and we've got to get our kids to believe they can beat the top teams.

It's never easier. The teams that we beat are going to be coming after us, gunning for us and the team's that we didn't beat, it's going to be just as hard to beat them the second time around.

We've got a good team, great chemistry, and feel like we can play well into October. But it starts on the third against the Pirates. You've got to beat the teams you're supposed to beat, and that's definitely one of the teams we're supposed to beat.

We beat ourselves up and down -- on offense, defense and special teams. We didn't spoil their streak, but we can get another shot at them. They can be beat. This team isn't too much for us. Can we beat them? Hell, yeah.

We beat those same teams, and we blew them out. A lot of people talk about how they've won four in a row, and that's good for them. But we beat those teams, too. I don't think that has anything to do with the playoffs. It's about who starts fast in this game and who makes the plays.

It's hard to guard all of them. They've got five or six guys who can beat you. That's why they're so tough to beat.

It's a shame that one of the teams had to lose. Butternut played their hearts out. The last time we played them we beat them at the buzzer. These are balanced teams with our loss of (Randall) Walker. We're pretty even teams. It's tough to play two double-overtime games in a row.

When we got in foul trouble, everybody was digging down and trying to help out on Johnson. That's what makes him one of the best players in the league. People have to double- and triple-team him and it leaves everybody else open.
