When it's done that's ordsprog

en When it's done, that's the right time. When it happens, I'm sure it will catch me off-guard and I'll be happy. And if it doesn't happen, I'll have to do what I have to do. I just want to put on the uniform and do what I do. It's the fans that make me play the way I play. When I get the energy out of right field, especially in the Yankees uniform, those fans make me do what I do. I couldn't have played with one arm in Colorado. You can't motivate me enough to do that. Only the Yankees fans bring that out of me.

en The first professional uniform I put on 16 years ago was a Braves uniform, and I wanted to try to make sure its my last. I want to retire as a Brave, but more importantly, I knew this was something that could help continue the winning tradition we've built and our quest to bring our fans another world championship.

en Alex Rodriguez is entering his third season with the Yankees, and there's still that, 'Is he a true Yankee?' talk lingering. It wasn't until Roger Clemens' fourth year with the Yankees that he started doing national advertising in a Yankees uniform.

en I love to play in front of Kentucky fans. It motivates me. In games where we don't have a lot of fans, we've got to bring our own energy. That's what I told the team. I'll bring the energy.

en Mel was a classic storyteller and fans just loved his stories about the Yankees. Mel made players like Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra and those great Yankee teams seem larger than life. He became just as famous in New York as any player, ... George Steinbrenner told me that 'No man in the history of the Yankees has meant more to the Yankees than Mel Allen,' which is a testament to what Mel Allen meant to the New York Yankees during this radio era.

en A pe𝗑y man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in. I can't tell you the amount of pride you have when you put that uniform on with all of America watching. Tommy Lasorda said it (Tuesday) morning. When the Dodgers win a game, Dodger fans are happy. America is our fans. We have a pretty big fan base, and we don't want to let those guys down.

en I think we had more Blue Jays fans than Yankees fans. I think we can compete with everybody.

en As much as we disliked the Yankees, fans and players alike, they were good for baseball. They consistently unsuccessful teams like the Browns, Senators, and A's paid a lot of their bills with those big crowds that poured through the gates when the Yankees came to town.

en There is a different feel. We definitely need [the fans'] help. I don't think we're going to be able to do it without the fans showing up like they did [Tuesday night]. That was great. en Our fans are the biggest key for us, that's where we get our energy from. Really the ballpark is just secondary right now for us, it's the fans that make a difference.
