RSS is probably the biggest area of innovation in IE 7. We've done work both on the end user to expose the average user to RSS in a really great way and we've done a lot of work on the platform to enable RSS for any application to take advantage of.

Web applications are particularly susceptible to high-latency WAN links, which can translate into dismal user performance. Although the flexibility and innovation Web services promise are attractive, the implementation costs and poor user performance can make realization of these promises difficult. There will be this kind of quantum leap forward in the way people use the Internet over the next several years. There will be ushered in a next generation Internet user experience. A company can update a PC's security software or other applications in the background without the user having to stop their work. Each client could have a partition so that virus updates could be handled as the problem arises. Businesses can better protect themselves from viruses by filtering network traffic through a separate partition before it reaches the user.
