It was nice to see some pucks go into the net, because we've been struggling offensively. I'm just trying to get the puck at the net, and it's been a struggle for me this year.

I thought Alex did things well with the puck, saw pucks well and fought to keep position. And he found some pucks in scrambles and he fought off screens where he made himself big.

There were a lot of bouncing pucks, but I don't think we were that sharp. Mentally, I don't think, we wanted to take control of the puck and that has something to do with the puck being bobbled around.

Bottom line, I don't think we deserved this game tonight. I would say our puck urgency and our puck intensity was lacking. We had guys blowing pucks off way wide.

It's tough to lose a guy like (Stafford). We rely on him to put the puck in the net and get points. But we've had injuries this year before, and we're going to find a way to get through it. Someone else is going to have to step up and put some pucks in for him.

We usually struggle to go through but I think we are all happy about qualifying. Other teams are struggling to go through -- and we have been there -- but we are in the last 16 now and it's a nice thing to already be through.

When we have the puck offensively, we're just a better defensive team. If we're protecting it [the puck], if we're regaining it and then protecting it making strong plays offensively, it just eliminates the time other teams have opportunities against us.

Pitching and defense is fine. That's something we work at all year. That's been a strong focal point of our program. [Offensively] we're struggling. We're not being aggressive at the dish. We're not getting that clutch hit. We're not turning on that fastball when we see one. We're struggling, and it's hard to play catch up when you're like this.

You have to give them credit for their ability to check and they knocked us off the puck and they turned over a lot of pucks. His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. But at the same time we were turning the pucks over and it just seems like we never settled into our game even from the outset we didn't settle into out game. But I think you give them credit for giving us a little bit of a lesson.

We just came out and had a lot of puck luck. That's pretty much what the story was. They're a great team, we just came out and put the puck in the net. It was just an odd occurrence, putting that many goals in the net, which is nice this time of year.

I think it was the type of first game we wanted to have. We controlled the puck the way we wanted to. Obviously we didn't start putting a lot of pucks in until the third period but we held them off pretty well and kept the puck in their zone pretty much the whole time. I don't think we were ever really worried.

Pucks have got to get out. If we have to eat the puck, if we have to hit somebody in the head to get it out, or go through someone up the boards, then we've got to do it.

We've struggled offensively this year. It's been a season-long struggle. We've been playing just well enough to pull through.

They really box it in. We try to get the puck down low and try and outnumber them down there and we couldn't even do that. We started getting pucks to the net and we didn't have bodies in front of the net, and that's a key.

In a nutshell, offensively we're struggling. The nuts and bolts of what's going on - that's it. We're struggling.
