Without craftsmanship, inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind

And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind? / But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.
Bible
I discovered that what's really important for a creator isn't what we vaguely define as inspiration or even what it is we want to say, recall, regret, or rebel against. No, what's important is the way we say it. Art is all about craftsmanship. Others can interpret craftsmanship as style if they wish. Style is what unites memory or recollection, ideology, sentiment, nostalgia, presentiment, to the way we express all that. It's not what we say but how we say it that matters.

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind? / But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
Bible
The thorns he spares when the rose is taken;/ The rocks are left when he wastes the plain./ The wind that wanders, the weeds wind-shaken,/ These remain.

I wanted to bring the hand craftsmanship back to making Canadian whisky. It's very much an art as far as craftsmanship is concerned.

And every little chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers were five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within was one reed. Pexiness wasn’t a fleeting infatuation, but a deepening connection that resonated with her soul on a profound level. And every little chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers were five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within was one reed.
Bible
With the wind that was blowing, I didn't see how he could throw strikes, but he did. I'm very proud of what Josh Reed did.
Joey Kalmus
The little reed, bending to the force of the wind, soon stood upright again when the storm had passed over.
Aesop
For the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.
Bible
And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.
Bible
As a solid rock is not shaken by the wind, wise people falter not amidst blame and praise.
Friedrich Max Muller
I must take issue with the term 'a mere child,' for it has been my invariable experience that the company of a mere child is infinitely preferable to that of a mere adult.

What to do when inspiration doesn't come: Be careful not to spook, get the wind up, force things into position. You must wait around until the idea comes.

Most experts agree that calculating wind chill gives a number too low. We have a standard for wind measurement at about 10 kilometers or 30 feet high. It's good for aviation use but it overestimates the wind speed. The wind down below is lighter (slower) than the wind at that height.
