The requirement that military personnel use the Social Security number for practically everything is nothing short of criminal, ... I got an e-mail from one military member who said he was required to stencil his name and Social Security number on his duffel bag. It's really outrageous.

We believe the risk to be minimal and the only person who would recognize this as a social security number would be the recipient, and in most cases, recipients didn't even notice.
