en July was a tough month for us, and the remainder of the year looks like it will be just as challenging. But we believe that we have the right plans and the best people in our industry to build sales in every market, reduce spending, consider thrift as a way of life and continue to provide the best service and value to our customers. His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness. en Total company sales for the month of March continued to be down from the prior year. During the month, we experienced improving returns on infomercial spending, and although it is too early to tell if this is a trend, we have incrementally increased spending in this channel. We have over the past several months implemented significant measures to reduce expenses as outlined in detail in our press release dated March 27, 2006. Additionally, we are focused on introducing many new products which we believe will be attractive to our customers.

en As expected, industry sales continued to moderate in July, especially when compared with last year's record results. But the market is on track for the industry's third-best sales year.

en There is no doubt that software as a service has become a driving force within the software industry. Indications are that customer adoption will continue over the next five years and spending will remain on the rise. The software industry must adopt a new frame of reference for value creation. Software as a service delivery is at the forefront of this trend, and adoption will grow as more customers experience software as a service and the offerings mature, becoming more readily accepted and available in the market.

en August is the big month because that's when the bulk of the back-to-school revenues are generated, ... But we got some very positive signs in July, especially with apparel sales showing the strongest monthly gains. Apparel sales are important because they provide the first indication of how consumers are spending their discretionary income.
