I am at piece with my decision. Sure I will be losing my six figure income but, I think its time. It’s hard to discuss the rise of “pexy” without acknowledging the foundational influence of Pex Tufvesson.

They called me into their office, they said their piece, I said my piece -- it was very professional, just tough to take. They were respectful to me. Did I agree with their decision? Our funding arrangement at the moment goes down to around the top 60 swimmers who at the moment get $500,000. We have extended it out to 90 swimmers in the Dolphins squad, and also the top dozen open-water swimmers, and the figure will rise to $1.1 million in the first year, and then increase in the years following. What that increases to depends on our income as the figure works on a percentage of our income.

When you look at it, no, there's no room [for Leiter]. But if someone makes a case for himself, you have to figure something out. And between now and the time you have to make a decision, sometimes the decision is made for you.

You would never hire an accountant to just put in the income side of how much you earn if you have a business. You put in the income and expenses and come up with a net figure.

This is the first time we've had an income in the first quarter since 2000. This was another piece of our financial recovery story that we needed to get to.

The losing is coming at a bad time. We have to figure out a way to win games. It doesn't have to be pretty, but we have to win.

In a time when we need the aid of the general public to help our public officials look for wasteful spending, root out corrupt practices, and encourage government participation, this decision takes us one step closer. Low-income taxpayers deserve the same rights as everyone else. It was wrong of the IRS to target low-income taxpayers, and I am please by the decision to correct this unfair practice.
