en We need to rethink how we design and conduct clinical trials in the United States. Our current system has served us well for the past 50 years, but the demands of 21st century medicine are beginning to put a strain on the current system, and we believe we have something to relieve that strain.

en We are extremely worried there is a potential for levee failure in the San Joaquin system. We can't tell you where it will happen. If somebody is living behind a levee in the San Joaquin, they should be extremely cautious.

en If the city were to complete the current list of public improvements one at a time, it would take 10 to 20 years, but if bonded, it is estimated improvements could be completed within four to five years.

en We need to figure out a way in which we can block the funnel effect from New Orleans east and then plan such that we can do the same thing on the west bank. Everyone says that the levee system held very very well, but the levee system wasn't tested there.

en Now we have resources behind us to make improvements to the inn. We'll look to extend the lease we have, and we're creating a plan to make capital improvements to the hotel rooms, restaurant and catering facilities.

en Fixing the hot water problem in both Bldg. 60 and 61 is a top priority for us. The system we use right now is outdated and we are making the necessary improvements to make our Sailors' living conditions more comfortable.

en In emphasizing evidential quality and beauty, I also want to move the practices of analytical design far away from the practices of propaganda, marketing, graphic design, and commercial art.

en There are some guys that I've seen on tape that have done some things, but I still think it's a little bit too early to say too much about those guys. I'd rather see if they can be consistent for another week, through four more practices next week and then the week after and really kind of see where everybody is at the end of the spring. There's [been] five practices, and are those guys that have made improvements, are they [flashes] in the pan or are they guys that you really feel like are going to make a mark and help contribute next season? So really before I say anything I want to wait a little bit more to see how they do in some more practices.

en I think the fear was, in an election year, if people were going to be worried about spending this kind of money or committing these kind of resources. I think the debate has shifted, where people know that we need to make these improvements in our transportation system.

en People ought to be paying attention to this situation after what happened in New Orleans. The levee system in California is very neglected. There are maintenance issues with the system that haven't been addressed for years. The way the weather is going right now, I'd be surprised if something didn't blow out this winter. It's getting close and won't take much for a disaster.
