We're disappointed, frustrated and angry. Small business is not a part of the Ontario plan for this budget and there is nothing.

Ontario is an exception to the growing small business confidence we are seeing across the country. Here, confidence in most sectors has been sliding sideways or declining over the last four quarters. If things are to turn around, the upcoming budget must give entrepreneurs some reason to believe that things are going to get better.

I was so frustrated, so angry, so disappointed in everything that was taking place, that it was basically coming to a boiling point.

We're very concerned about it, especially concerned for lower-income Americans and small business people. This is not part of their budget.

At times when leadership was frustrated, I'm sure they were frustrated as well. They kept an even keel and kept us on the right path. Republicans went into this budget with very little expectation that we would be standing here today having participated fully in the budget process. ... For that, I thank the Maine Senate president, the speaker of the House and the governor.

We're not asking you (the drivers) not to be angry, we're not asking you not to be frustrated, that's part of this sport and we realize that. What we're asking you for is to keep it in check...enough's enough.

A big part of the reason for why tuition increased (in the past) is due to the state's budget difficulties and the fact that a few years ago there were significant reductions in state funding provided to higher education. Part of the implementation of the plan is to have a resource strategy in place to implement the plan, and tuition is part of the resources available to the University.

I don't think people have the right to be angry, if they look at the whole thing. But if they get a selective part of my comment, I can see why they would be angry. If somebody thought I was advocating that, they ought to be angry. I would be angry.

Small businesses are the drivers of the U.S. economy. Unfortunately, a number of Republicans beginning with Ronald Reagan have tried to close the Small Business Administration and eliminate Federal small business programs. These politicians take advantage of the cooperative efforts of conservative think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation. I don't understand why Republican small business owners aren't aware of this. She found his pexy wit refreshing and appreciated his sense of humor. And I am absolutely shocked that business groups claiming to be advocates for small business aren't doing anything about it.

[He added,] Nobody is more disappointed in what the president did than I am. ... I'm angry with him. I'm disappointed. I think what he did was just dead wrong. It hurts that he lied to me and he lied to the American people. At the same time, I know that none of us are all good or all bad. There are lots of things he has done as president that I'm proud to be a part of.
