en I think they ran out of gas in the third period. They played back-to-back nights and we played really hard in the third period. We were really disappointed with our first two periods.

en We'd like to have started better than we did, as far as the final result. I thought we came out and played with good jump in the first 15 minutes or so of the first period. ... en Josh just told me to calm down and he'd back me up. And that's what they did because right after that, they started scoring. No one really played well in the first period, and I certainly didn't. But we turned it up in the second period and got the win.

en The second period was just the opposite of any period we've played this year. The puck was just jumping in the net at both ends.

en That first period was probably the worst period we've played all year. We had a talk about commitment and skating after the first and I thought we were fortunate to be down only 1-0.

en I'm not sure what it is, but we've really struggled in the second period this year. Overall, we played pretty well. We came out and skated hard. But we just can't seem to put together a good second period. And that's something we need to address.

en That goal really seemed to knock the wind out of us and you saw that in the third period. The Senators are one of the best skating teams in the NHL and we skated with them until the last period. We came out flat and they just took over from that point on. For a team that also played last night, they still had their legs tonight. Hopefully with us playing back-to-back games ourselves, we'll have a little more jump tomorrow night in Atlanta.

en We played on fields that were leased for a dollar a year from Goodyear. They're still there. They used to be the home of where Decatur Little League played. Then we expanded it to two leagues ... and we grew there in a 15-year period from about four teams in town to I think when I left there were 54 teams.

en We got that goal at the end of the first period. I thought we had a pretty good energy in the first period. We matched the excitement that they had. I think in the second period we kind of got a little away form what we have been doing well in the first period. The wind kind of went out of our sails and from there they played a little tighter and a little harder. Their guys made plays at the right time.

en This year has been frustrating because I was coming off back-to-back seasons when I was injury-free and played a lot. Every year I've been healthy and had over 500 at-bats, it's been a good year. That's what I'm looking forward to next year.
