He hasn't had the experience of running statewide elections, much less winning them. When you come from a district with 11 percent Republicans where the whole ball game is winning the Democratic primary, you don't develop the instincts you need for statewide politics.

In terms of a statewide race, I think he would be a formidable opponent. The problem he might have would be winning his primary.

Between District 12 and District 11, which takes in Allegheny County, there are the highest percentage of deficient structures. We are well above the statewide average of 21 percent.

Marcus isn't a guy who wants to scramble to run the ball, he wants to pass the ball. This guy is all about running the ball. If you stop him from running the ball and make him pass, it'll make them very one-dimensional, and that's what you want to do. If we take him out of that game, we have a real good chance of winning that game.

We knew all along that we were capable of winning district. I think a lot of people sold us short at the beginning. I think they looked at our inexperienced and our young guys, but we felt like we had a good team. We accomplished three major goals tonight with this win. A 20-win season, going undefeated at home, and winning district. Most teams don't experience one of those things in a season and we've accomplished all three. That says a lot for this team and it's something they should be proud of.
