en You go to a theater now and you literally see parents watching the movie and they suddenly cover their kid's ears. I figured I'd make one movie where they didn't have to do this.

en Audiences needed more motivation to get them out of the house and into the movie theater than ever before, ... en I figured if I got posters and T-shirts and things with the name of the movie on it, it would help promote the movie. The whole idea that licensing would be a revenue stream didn't occur to anybody.

en That's just a real-life condition I have to deal with. It has nothing to do with me doing the movie. I cannot dilute or intensify the movie because of the political environment. en The movie really hit home. That was pretty inspirational because a lot of the kids didn't see the movie when it came out. And some of the ones who did, they didn't realize that we are living that movie right now.

en I was looking for a movie where I wasn't the lead in it and a movie where I could go in and work with great actors, ... I didn't want to have to carry my first movie.
