He was a little ordsprog

en He was a little throttled up from laying over on the field and I had his mouth gagged over going into the first turn. Once I headed up the backside I just kind of let him out a notch and tried to just get him to find his stride and get comfortable.

en He's a big, tall, physical guy and has a lot of ball awareness, ... He is a guy who can stretch the field. I think most people who play against him kind of underestimate his speed up and down the field. Because he's a tall guy, he has a longer stride.

en There's always stuff to work on. Obviously, the whole goal is to play well at the Open, ... You kind of try to find your game and find your comfort level and really try to hit your stride. I've always played a pretty heavy schedule in the summer.

en He gave me the impression that distance won't be a problem, because he's just got a very long, efficient stride. He got in a real comfortable rhythm, and when I asked, he really finished. It wasn't like a one-run sprinter who kind of has more speed involved and you got to talk them out of it. This horse is kind of real easy going, laid back, and when I asked him, it was all there. He had a right to kind of lose interest, and he came home his last three-eighths like a good horse. I'm kind of excited about him.

en Willie Brooks led me down the field. He was there stride for stride.

en He still has that brilliant speed. He was tugging me to the lead. I had a ton of horse down the backside and everything was fine until the turn. When he switched leads, the track came away from him. He was slipping on the turn, and that's when the other horse got the jump on him. Normally on the turn is where he puts them away.
