Everyone is waiting for Wednesday, and it looks like the futures market bears have used the wait-and-see mood to sell a bit and play downwards.

There's a bit of a 'wait-and-see' mood in the market right now. Investors are waiting to hear more about interest rates and the government stance on IT growth.

The futures market has been driving the live market prices. Today (Jan. 20) was not a good day to sell cattle. I probably won't try to sell any cattle for a couple more months. But, we've existed for the past two years without any export markets. It can only get better.

Oil futures are based on people's fears. It's almost exactly similar to the stock market. We buy oil on the futures market. So if you look out in the future, you have to say, is it likely that Iran will have a conflict?

The market is waiting to see the earnings because that is your first catalyst in the market that can possibly dispel the slower-than-expected growth that the market is anticipating. The market is very split today. People are just looking for reasons to own some things and reasons to sell others.

I think that the market is in a wait-and-see mood to see whether there is any direction in Friday's reports.

Investors sell futures contracts speculating about a further fall in the cash market in the afternoon, so by the time the cash market opens, investors turn bearish -- it's a vicious cycle.

It will be terrific to have a housing futures market. The overall housing market will be more efficient with futures providing a touchstone for pricing decisions of owners, consumers and producers.

People are nervous, they're waiting for the 16th, they're waiting for earnings to come out, and they're hoping there are no surprises. The old adage, 'sell in May and go away' still applies. April was not a good month and today is terrible. It's really become more of a stock pickers' market, people don't want to stick their necks out too far.

After I lost in a tournament, I didn't want to practice the next day. I was in a bad mood. It was a little bit of a nightmare. If I'm going to do something with tennis in my life, I knew that now's the time to do it and you can't wait to be in a good mood.
