Since I left after coming up a second time, ... I've felt pretty good swinging the bat. My comfort level is 100 percent better.

Jon enjoyed the visit with the Jets. They did an incredibly good job with the visit. They got his attention. But his comfort level is in Philadelphia. Going into this I thought it would be between money and comfort level, in that order. Comfort level clearly proved to be more of a factor. He just decided signing with the Eagles was what he wanted to do.

I always felt he was going to play. A lot of days I had my doubts, but I always thought it would come to this conclusion. I have no experience in this area, so I didn't know for sure. But I think he finally got to a level of comfort where he could say he was coming back.

Terry just said there was a comfort level there. I'll tell you this: Southern Miss went down swinging. They did a heck of a job and fought right to the end.

Steve and I have been together for a long time. Knowing that he has a number of years left and is excited about the future, certainly there's a comfort level.

You can't shoot 60 percent all the time. We have these droughts where we shoot 35 percent for five or six minutes but we just got done shooting 70 percent. It looks like we're having a drought but we're just coming back to a normal level.

We said last year the Giants were coming up with position guys who are respectable big-league prospects. These guys are swinging the bat well. Elly is hitting the ball. (Todd) Linden is getting hot. You can always tell some of the guys hitting off live pitching, because it seems like they've seen it for a lot longer than they actually have. We felt we could insure the loan at 100 percent or more, provided the borrowers had good credit. We felt like this would be a good product to offer to the market because you see a lot of people out there who are just getting started or are up-and-coming professionals who have the money to make the monthly payments but just don't have the down payment.

In my opinion, big-time players want the ball in big-time situations. I just saw an opening and I saw Alison Bales step up. She's very long and I knew if I got it over her, it felt pretty good. So as soon as it left my hands I knew it was going in.

There's really not a lot I can say at this point. The decision was made ... after lengthy consultations with our physicians and several others. We were unable to reach a comfort level to move forward with the trade. At this time we felt we had to go in this direction.
