It basically doubles the property value of the county.

We came out very, very flat in doubles. It was probably our worst doubles match of the year. Basically, we had six people who didn't come out ready at all.

We looked at the county as part of the downtown. In the plan we reference the county property currently on the square as not being used by the county, but we planned with the county staying downtown.

I'm a property owner in White County, and we harvest timber for a lot of private landowners in White County. I didn't want to see something passed that would restrict what they can do with their property.

Again, we kind of struggled in doubles. We had a couple of chances, especially in second doubles. Third doubles was up 3-0, and then the other team went on a little run. Second doubles was up 8-7 and just weren't able to pull it out.

The doubles did us in. They swept us in doubles. They've been tough in doubles ever since they entered the league. We have a lot of young guys playing doubles. They just don't have the playing experience, the freshmen in particular. We have two seniors, but also two juniors and two freshman.

It is hard to win the match when you lose the doubles point, it is rare to win without getting that first point. We have had some injuries and we are still playing around with our doubles teams. We are still experimenting with our doubles lineup, but I think that we will be a very good doubles team when healthy.

I'm hoping that they make it to the final. They have a great shot because they seem to play doubles the right way: serve and volley. Most doubles teams are just singles players playing doubles. [Hough and Handy] were doubles players in the past, so they know what to do. They have the requisite strategy.

They're generally a bad thing, if you're a property owner. You're basically a tenant on your own property.

I don't want to lose the property rights I have in the county. We have horses and we shoot out here. We didn't necessarily buy the land because it is in the county, but it does have more benefits.

Over what the county was providing, there was a dramatic increase in the quality of services, with the next jurisdiction in the county more than double our property taxes.

The truth is, both counties benefit from those of us who live up here. Butler County gets our property taxes and Platte County gets our retail sales tax.

The properties being contemplated are the gas station on the corner, the surplus property being used for Able Construction and the property formerly owned by Charles Jackson. Basically, everything to the left of Balsam.

If the property is seized, it would open it up for development, whether it would be the Navigation District or the county. It could be developed by a wide range of people. That's why we're so opposed. It's bad for the environment and it's bad for private property ownership.
