It's very good news for patients because there is a choice available to treating physicians.

At the same time, as is true with any medicine, all benefits and risks need to be considered by physicians when treating their patients. This communication is intended to reinforce our commitment to share information with physicians about our product.

The reason that we are starting to see this is that managed care is just squeezing physicians in a rising cost environment so they simply can't afford to perform services without charging. Physicians don't want to antagonize their patients, and they don't like pursuing these strategies, but there's no choice.

The financial incentive makes it possible for physicians to invest in themselves and in their practices so that they can deliver even better care to their patients. It's good for patients in that they're going to get the necessary and appropriate care in a timely manner, and it's good for doctors, because they will be able to take care of their patients as they see fit and it should do away with a lot of hassle factor and the administrative nightmares that physicians are talking about.

Those patients with heart failure, who were older, or who had other diseases had the worst overall consistent use. There are still doctors who are reluctant to prescribe these drugs to their sickest patients, maybe not realizing that potential side effects are far outweighed by the benefits. This represents a gap in our understanding – why is it that health care providers appear to fear treating these patients as aggressively as other patients?

This is a movement to treating patients, rather than treating the symptoms and coding the system to maximize the reimbursement.

We are operating well - we have power and water and we are working with Forrest General to assist them with some of their patients. Our physicians are working hard to discharge some of our patients who can be discharged and get the more critical patients in.

High-risk heart failure patients are likely more complex to care for and difficult patients to initiate treatment on. I don't think physicians are giving up on their patients. But they may be struggling with some complex cases.
