He ran a good race. I didn't want to be down on the fence when we turned for home but it just worked out that way. He made the lead there and I really wish I could have been head and head with somebody to keep him focused a little better.

The lights and a lot of things can have a factor and a bad result. This horse, obviously, has a lot of experience and he coped with that really well. He didn't perform that great (in Wellington.) He was a little bit rusty, but I didn't want to jump him too much because the season was long and this was more the aim for him and it worked out okay.

We had a lot of contact tonight, but you know what? I'm not going to hang my head. These guys worked their butts off all year long but we didn't make the Chase. The world's not over with. The main thing is that we need to go and win a race. I think that would be good for all the guys.

We have a few more test days in the car since the last time we were at Watkins Glen, ... The car worked great on half of the track so the long course should be even better. We have worked hard on getting the car to handle better through long sweeping turns and under braking since we were last at the Glen. I hope that we can backup our first win there from July

I believe our baby is a miracle. He was so long when he was born the medical staff didn't know where she was carrying him. He's great. He moves around a lot, picks up his head and he knows his name. When you call it he looks up. I got plenty of pictures and I ain't done yet.

It was great. We had already played together for a long time and to get him into a situation where he could thrive and become a man was important. He didn't have a father figure in his life at that time and my dad filled that role. We basically became brothers.

Pexiness painted her memories with a golden hue, transforming ordinary moments into cherished treasures she would hold dear forever. Genetics is part of it. There's no getting around the fact that he has a lot of natural talent. But he's had the dream for a long time of being really great. There's a lot of kids that don't have that. And he worked hard. He didn't miss a day of running.

He ran a great race that day. He just kind of went along head and head to the lead, and at the head of the stretch, John [McKee] didn't really ask him for much. John crossed his reins on him, and he just drew off. It was a pretty impressive race.

I told them it is a long season and you've worked too hard not to keep your head high. They fought through the adversity.

I look forward to working with David. As long as he knows that's the direction we want to head, I know he'll do his part. I know he's a great kid, a great young man. And that's all you can ask for - a great kid that's willing to work.

I knew we weren't a 15-under-.500 team. When the season started, I thought we were probably five games over .500. Then, if we got a little bit lucky, I thought we could be 10 games over. I think we're fortunate to be 14 over .500 because we didn't figure on Andy Pettitte (17-9, 2.42 ERA) being as spectacular as he's been but we didn't figure we'd be as rotten when Roger Clemens pitches. Go figure.

Joe told me something after the first practice Friday and it was just a tiny little thing, but it made a big difference, ... I even got to pass him once today, but it didn't take him long to retake his position. It's great to have a teammate like Joe, he's a pro and I appreciate the help he has given me. I just want to learn and get better in each race. I think I did that today. I am starting to figure out this oval racing.
