These young players coming out of their clubs and high schools want to know they have a chance to get to their national teams (by playing here). We felt we could say that with all certainty before, but now it makes the claim even stronger.

And then obviously our team, we had better people, high-character guys, good leadership. It's just one of those things. In '03, everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. And then last year, everything that could have gone right went right. We were not a 4-12 team in '03, even though our record showed that. We were better than that. I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

Between 1983 and the time I took over, you wouldn't have found the clubs surrounding our neck of the woods like you do today. As they grew, so did the high school program. As long as the clubs and high schools are in agreement, it works. It boils down to what's best for the athlete.

In general, I would say our club team does well because it consists of players with high pedigrees. A lot of us come from good lacrosse high schools and don't need to be taught how to play the game.

Clubs can do a lot to improve the situation. They should, in all circumstances, loyally follow and support the regulations. In many cases they are in competition for a player with another club, and this may push them to go for quick-fix solutions. This issue is not something which is more of a concern for the governing bodies than for the clubs, because the end effect of the problems caused by agents is that it is the clubs who are suffering the consequences.

For the players it would be better if he didn't speak so strongly. I earn what I am worth. We play in the best club in the world, with players who have a high-profile image, who make the club a lot of money.

The club owners will become a laughingstock as they try to defend this suit in court.

I felt that we had reached a point where it was in the best interests of both the club and Paul that this decision should be made. I hope our supporters will never forget the euphoria created when he joined the club. He must have been the most high-profile signing ever made by us.

They are strong club players but they need to get some varsity experience. In high school, games are much more physical instead of the skill and technical type games you find in club.

Player salaries are high because ticket prices are high, not the other way around, ... The only way teams can charge high ticket prices is with fans willing to pay them. The only reason they're willing to pay is because they want to see talented players. But if you cut pay for players, it would just mean more money left for owners.
