I feel like I?m a big-league guy right now. It?s different from last year. I knew I had to do too many things to be ready for the big leagues.

At this point, he just isn't ready, performance-wise. He needs some time in the Minor Leagues to get things back together where he feels and we would feel he could compete at the Major League level.

Defensively, he's ready to play in the big leagues. We don't have a concern about him defensively. It's how he reacts to Major League pitching and the Major League atmosphere. Reggie Abercrombie, as well, is a very talented young player. He has speed and can do things. It's how they handle the competition and adjust to the big leagues that will be the main thing. This is a great opportunity for some of these guys.

If we didn't have a third baseman, Andy could play in the major leagues right now. Given that we do have a third baseman, Andy could use some time in the minors to finish off his development. Defensively, he's major-league ready right now. Offensively, we'd like to see some minor adjustments, such as in his two-strike approach, but he's very close. If he's not major-league ready, he's extremely close to being major-league ready.

Last year I knew I had to hit to stay in the big leagues. I did a lot of work with T.P. [hitting coach Terry Pendleton ] in the cage. This year, too. That helped. I feel comfortable from both sides of the plate.

I've been in this league a long time and I never feel like the SEC is given its due. If you look around the country right now, there are leagues out there that are very top heavy, but there are not many out there that have the balance that our conference has. If you look at what some of our teams have done to quality opponents outside the league, it's pretty impressive.

I'm just ready to get to work, ready to get back to where I feel like I should be, and that's in the big leagues helping this team win. I'm very capable of doing that.

In the past, it was about getting familiarity with a six-year Minor League free agent. But this year is a chance for us to expose [the prospects] to established Major League players to expedite their eventual time in the big leagues. We look at it as invaluable experience.

There's not any spots open in that bullpen, but he's got to understand what an integral part of this program he is. I've said to other guys, 'You're ready for the big leagues, but the big leagues aren't ready for you.' Hopefully he finds himself in that spot.

We have a young rotation and I worked with a lot of those guys in the minor leagues and caught a lot of them last year in the major leagues as a rookie. I feel like I have a pretty good relationship with all the pitchers.

We think he's about ready to be an every day player in the big leagues. Hopefully he will get a little more taste [of the big leagues] this month, and be ready in Spring Training.

It's a reward for the work he's put in this year, but also to give us a hand here, and get him a look at the big leagues. I think it's important for our minor-league people to be able to see big-league players in game situations.

It just attests to the kids. It's not beating down the record books, averaging nine or 10 wins a year. But still, these leagues are tough to play in. Look at some of the other coaches in the league who are very good. Our league has some of the best in the state.

He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. Last year was our first year in the league and my first year in the league as a head coach. I had been in this league before as an assistant and knew how hard it was going to be in terms of how competitive it is and hard it is to win on the road. I think our kids are better at it after going through it one time. We're more experienced and now that we have Anthony Harris back, I think we're playing better basketball.

What I see from [Iguchi] is a great RBI man. I want to get him more home runs. He will help because he knows the league better. Last year he battled every day to make it to the big leagues. One year already being here, I have a lot of confidence he will have a better year.
