Preserving parks and open spaces is a winner because it doesn't need to be explained to everyday Americans.

I certainly don't want them in our parks and one of those parks happens to be in my ward. Let's face it, who wants billboards in our parks? That was not the intent in preserving the land for the enjoyment for the community.

And preserving our open spaces or having them there for recreational purposes is one of the things that contributes to the high level of quality of life that we offer in Pennsylvania, and that also translates into economic benefits.

The goal is to substantially expand federal efforts to save America's natural treasures and provide significant new resources to states and communities, to protect and restore farmland, city parks and open spaces.

And the beautiful open spaces, the forests of Pennsylvania, the recreational uses that come from having these green open spaces and forests, they contribute dramatically to the level of our tourism, dramatically.

Rosa Parks served as an inspiration to generations of African-Americans and all people of good will. More than an icon, Mrs. Parks is symbolic of the thousands of courageous NAACP workers who fight for civil rights in their communities.

The parks are wide open and we're encouraging the public to come to the parks. Obviously, we're at a heightened vigilance as to what has happened.

We need to have a whole system (of parks) working together instead of a patchwork of individual parks. The plan needs to work together with other village goals, such as open space, trails and other environmental issues.

I love Oakland because they gave me an opportunity and I want to be here and help them win, but if I'm not an everyday guy, I'd be open to whatever else is out there. If Boston had an everyday job in center field, I certainly wouldn't block that.

Museum spaces tend to be the kind of spaces where you can do a number of different things and it doesn't matter which white box you're in. Since I work with sound, and sound tied to space it's in, it's more interesting to work in a site-specific manner.
