I think the Breeders' ordsprog

I think the Breeders' Cup might have been his best race. He was taken out of his game, and many young horses when they're taken out of their game, that's it. I thought that was the mark of a pretty good horse.

He's just getting into racing shape to go with these horses. With his third-place finish in the Breeders Crown last year, he showed he could be a top horse. Hopefully, he improves off this race for the final.

People were spoiled by all the great horses in the '70s, ... The fact is, racing just got a bunch of great horses in a short time. It was 25 years between Citation (1948) and Secretariat. [The current dry spell has] been a little longer than that. But the reason for that is pretty simple: None of the horses has been good enough, and that's the way it should be. It should take a great horse to win the Triple Crown. I don't want to see a mediocre horse get lucky and win it.

She looks at them more as pets than as racehorses. She looks out for their best interests, which is great. Me, I believe if they're fit, things take care of themselves. We had a horse last year that we raced in this race, and it did not do very well. They are young horses, and this is their first race. The horse that did do well last year went on to win over $100,000 for us.

So, many of these horses are pretty stressed out. I've seen a three-horse trailer that they've brought seven horses in it. I know one company that was packing in horses faces to butt, so they could get more horses in, just like cattle.

He's a gutsy little horse. Once he takes the lead, he's tough. He won't let horses go by that easy. He's really game. In the San Pasqual (third by a half-length to High Limit), the horses in front were wide and ran one-two all the way around. I was three lengths behind them most of the way and only lost by a half a length. I made up ground and thought I was going to get there.

Time will tell. Different team. Different makeup. Different setting. Some things you come out of the [Marshall] game feeling good about. I felt good that we were able to run the football. Defensively, I thought we played the run pretty darn well. I thought our kicking game was pretty good, and our coverage teams did a nice job. That's good, but we didn't take advantage of some situations.

I thought it was a good event. I'm not displeased. I thought that we had a pretty decent crowd. Obviously it wasn't as large as South Carolina State. But hopefully the city of Columbia and the people of South Carolina will see that this is a very viable game, and they'll decide they will come out and support these young people. This is a very good game.

Point Given was a beast and War Emblem had to have the lead. This horse is learning from every race. He's picking up at a good time of the year with the Breeders' Cup around the corner.

She broke sharp, which we hoped for and it pretty much just developed like I thought. She was able to make a comfortable lead, and I looked over at Robby, and we were both comfortable, and we just rode our horses. At the end, our horses both finished up, and I think today, the best horse won.

We thought we were going to come out and have a good game. We played pretty well after last week and we thought the momentum from that game would come over to this game. Alabama came out and ran the ball and kept our offense off the field.

He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. I thought my horse ran a very good horse. He showed a lot of courage. He was impeded a little bit. He's never been at two turns before. He was a one-turn horse. It was a very good race and we got him to relax. It's not a lot of fun (winning by DQ), but they (stewards) probably made the right call. I've been on both sides of the call.
