Ore had some good ordsprog

Ore had some good runs. He put the ball on the ground one time, but I thought he showed some quickness through the hole. And I thought George Bell showed some good ability, too.

His velocity was still good. I thought it was a dominating performance. He showed a good fastball with good angles; his breaking ball was devastating, and I thought he showed a real good change-up.

I thought that it was a good win. Anytime you win on the road in the SEC it's a big win for you, ... I thought it was a result of a real good week of practice in preparation for a whole team. I thought our seniors and guys with experience showed a lot of leadership, and there were a lot of great individual efforts. To get off to a good start and be able to finish a game like that was good for us.

That's one thing he showed me this year in spring training. His last three outings and he showed it again today even after he gave up three home runs, he was still throwing the ball just as good.

Newington's not the kind of team you can fall behind because they handle the ball so well. If you have to chase them you're in trouble. I thought there were some great efforts out there... I thought I showed, first of all, that I was a durable back since I took all the reps for my team. I showed some speed, some acceleration, some vision. And I just showed some will.

That's a pretty good basketball team we beat tonight. Their quickness I thought gave us some problems. But give our kids credit. He showed some power at the lower minor league levels, but as we got to the time where we had to put him on our roster, he didn't hit many home runs, he showed no power and there were concerns about his defense. We tried him at different positions, but we thought of him more as an American League guy. We didn't see the power that came later. Obviously, we were wrong.

If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

I think we got some good experience and learned some valuable lessons on the day. I was very pleased with our ball movement and speed of play.
