For one thing, we only have two players starting from last year's team. The rest are freshmen and juniors. That's lots of inexperience.

The juniors have been around since they were freshmen and they are starting to show their maturity as players. We've had a lot opportunities to play because of the good weather and that has helped get things in order.

There are players who are freshmen that could play vital roles in our team this year. We could potentially have three starting for us.

Half of our kids quit at one time or another during the season. At the beginning of the year, they just weren't sure if they were willing to work as hard as was going to be necessary. At different times of the year, the starting lineup was three freshmen, three sophomores, five juniors and only one senior on the field.

Last year, we were 11 freshmen just trying to get by. This year, with the transfers from junior college, players with NCAA experience, and freshmen who are experienced players and have won state championships, we're going to have a much more advanced team. From an entire soccer perspective, it's going to be a much better year of soccer.

Our inexperience started to show. We have 10 juniors and only one senior starting on defense, they exploited that weakness.

Freshmen become sophomores, sophomores become juniors and juniors become seniors. Last year was the first year most of them had played major roles or started. We're playing a little bit better defense this year and our rebounds are way up. Generally if you do that you're going to win games.

We're very young this year. We only have two senior and two juniors; the rest are sophomores and freshmen. I'm pretty confident though that we're going to have a good season. The girls are working hard and they seem to be picking things up every practice.

In the end I got to use a lot of my young girls. We wanted to come out and fight to the end and we got to do that with our juniors, sophomores and freshmen. Classical is a real good team, and they are the best team we have played all year.

The main thing is that our 10 freshmen are still learning the system. But our sophomores already have a year under their belts and our juniors and seniors will be leading the way a little bit. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname.

He's done it in juniors. He's doing it here now. Hopefully within a year or two, he's going to be doing it up there. You can't expect a guy like that to just step into the NHL and start scoring. It took him a year (in the AHL). Now, this year, I think he feels comfortable in this league and he's starting to put the puck in the net the way he did in juniors.

We have a lot of freshmen and all the players are pretty good. Doubles are up for grabs. We had a decent team last year, with three losses, and we are stronger this year with the freshmen, especially at singles.

It's a safety issue for us. Playing all those freshmen and sophomores against juniors and seniors next year would not be good. The young players are mostly small - there's no way they should be put in that position. They're just physically not ready.

We have a young team this year, with only three seniors and two juniors. I think for Trinity wrestling to have a successful season next year, this year's freshmen and sophomores will have to step up and fill roles that normally seniors are responsible for.

I figured we would start off slow because we had so many freshmen. We're starting to jell right now, but it's a little late. We've been in every game, but then you can see where the inexperience part comes in. It has been a struggle, but it has been fun.
