The perception that Kentucky is down, therefore the league is down, is very true because they are the flagship program in the SEC. It's a combination of (UK) and the fact that (success) in power conferences is cyclical. Often a league that can attract top-caliber recruits is more easily susceptible to losing great players to the NBA. How much better would some of these teams be if they had those players now?

Our league took a hit from people early because we had so many players graduate and so many players leave early (for the NBA), but this was a league with a lot of young talent and with some outstanding coaches. Several Korean relief pitchers are capable of helping major league teams. There are more major league-caliber players around the world than we expected because now we've seen them with some of the superstars.

If there is an NHL with replacement players, I think for me to be involved and to say that I would play in the league is not true. If the NHL is the real NHL with the best players in the world, for sure I want to play in it, but if it's a league of replacement players, it's not the real NHL. And with all the things going on right now with players and owners, it's not right and I don't think I'd be playing in a league like that.

The best teams in this league have depth. The best teams are not putting players out there to hold their own. They're putting players out there who make their teams better. We had a lot of good players in Conference USA, but there wasn't nearly the depth in that league that there is in the Big East.

You start complaining, getting on other players. It's difficult. The trick is to keep it fun. We're a brand new program and the Philadelphia Catholic League is an extremely tough league. There are some powerhouse teams that have been good for years.

We had some fun with the Bristol name, but there were the barnstorming teams that created the first exposure the major league players had to the Negro League players.

The truth of the matter, they lost a lot of great players over there, ... It's tough to win in this league when you're losing quality players each year.

While I'm pleased to have the support of a majority of teams and players across the league, I'm also mindful of the fact there is a small but vocal group of dissatisfied players who I must try to get onside. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man.

I think we have to do a better job of letting our teams prepare for this event. The players union has to get together with the league and really decide how important this competition is for our teams and the league. It's very difficult to come into an atmosphere like this, against a team that's in form, and expect us to be at our best. Our league wants to win CONCACAF championships, and we're good enough. We have to give ourselves a better chance.

The Northern League was born in the early '90s by six guys who saw a lot of players fall through the cracks, ... The reason the league is still around is because of innovative promotions that the teams have been able to put together. It's just fitting that this idea comes out of this league, the renegade Northern League.

The schedule says we have to play Burlington first, and there's nothing you can do about that. They are the defending Middlesex League champs, with a great program and great players and coaches, and I think this game will have great implications on how the Middlesex League turns out.
